Vet clinic

Did you know that The Lost Dogs' Home's Veterinary Clinic not only cares for the thousands of animals that come to the Home each year, but also provides comprehensive veterinary care for private patients? Our in-house diagnostic equipment includes:

  • x-ray facilities
  • clinical pathology equipment
  • electrocardiography equipment
  • anaesthetic monitoring equipment (including pulse oximetry)
  • respiratory monitoring equipment
  • dental equipment, and
  • ultrasound equipment.

If your pet requires an anaesthetic, we offer pre-anaesthetic blood screens to thoroughly assess your pet's state of health prior to general anaesthesia. All patients admitted for a surgical procedure also receive painkillers to hasten recovery from surgery.

We are happy to refer your pet to a specialist, if necessary. We have good relationships with eye, skin and allergy, behavioural, surgical and medical specialists. Our Veterinary nurses are able to provide you with information such as vaccination, worming and flea control programs. They offer behavioural advice and run regular Puppy Preschool classes. The nurses can advise on diet, as well as devising weight loss programs.
