The Lost Dogs' Home is supplying an animal ambulance and a driver to
help with the evacuation of cats and dogs tomorrow morning (Friday 27
February) in the Yarra Valley/Warburton area. The ambulance will be
available at the Lilydale Showgrounds from 9:00am to assist residents
evacuate their pets to safety.
About 20% of the animals that arrive at The Lost Dogs' Home do not have any form of identification. In most cases, one small microchip is all that is needed to reunite lost and distressed pets with their owners.
The Victorian bushfires have relentlessly destroyed families, homes and livelihoods, but out of the devastation, stories of survival and heroism continue to emerge.
